Every two years, our trade fair "World of Fireplaces" (WOF) takes place in Leipzig. Representatives from the entire value chain meet at this international trade fair for fireplaces and home ambience. Admission is for trade visitors only.
With the WOF on desire of the European manufacturers of fire places such as fire-place, pellet and tiled stoves, heating fire-places as well as Dekofeuer, and from the suppliers and Dienstleistern a completely individual and international fair format was brought into being. True to the motto "From the industry for the industry. The WOF is at the same time Lifestyle and climatic fair. It shows novelties and trends approximately around the heat change, presents marketable solutions for an independent heat supply, gives impulses and invites to the discussion between specialized visitors, handicraft and industry. In the Fireplace Hub, speakers will provide information on trends and innovations in the industry. Decision-makers from business, politics and associations will also be on hand. Expert panels discuss innovative concepts, new products and climate policy issues. The trade fair thus not only offers trade visitors a comprehensive range of information and services, but also addresses the political landscape and the public with the message that "wood is a supporting pillar on the road to climate neutrality and part of the solution."
The market for fireplaces is hot: one in four households has a fireplace or tiled stove. This means that every eighth German citizen uses a so-called single-room fireplace. The main reasons why heating with wood remains popular in Germany - especially after the energy crisis: an independent heat supply from a sustainable and regionally available energy source that burns almost climate-neutrally and can replace expensive electricity at peak load times and cushion the rising costs of gas and oil. In addition, the energy stored in wood can be called up and stored at any time. Wood binds CO2 and, with a share of two thirds, is the most important renewable form of energy in the heating market alongside wind and solar. This means that without wood energy, just five percent of heating requirements would be covered by renewable energies. In addition, with its 300 years of sustainable forest management, Germany is one of the most densely forested countries with the largest wood reserves in Europe.
