Hazards are analysed and corresponding specifications are drawn up within the standardisation work. This is followed by standardisation at international, European and national level. In the field of catering equipment, for example, the DIN EN 60335 series of standards for electrical and mechanical safety or DIN EN 203 for gas appliances are relevant.
