From 01.01.2022, the ordinance sets requirements for the ecodesign of solid fuel local space heaters. According to this regulation, solid fuel local space heaters must fulfil requirements regarding the annual space heating efficiency and comply with corresponding limit values for emissions (dust emissions (PM), emissions of gaseous organic compounds (OGC), carbon monoxide emissions (CO) and nitrogen oxide emissions (NOx)). Manufacturers must also provide new product information (such as technical documentation, special precautions for assembly, installation or maintenance, and information on disassembly, recycling and/or end-of-life disposal for solid fuel space heaters. Manufacturers of these appliances must carry out a conformity assessment in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2015/1185 and a declaration of conformity in accordance with the Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC. According to Regulation (EU) 2015/1186, there are binding requirements for uniform energy consumption labelling and local space heaters have been provided with energy consumption labelling since 01.01.2018. Manufacturers must comply with both regulations before placing solid fuel local space heaters on the market. The HKI Association supports its members in questions regarding the implementation of Regulations (EU) 2015/1185 and 2015/1186 and represents their interests at national and European level. For the implementation of the ecodesign requirements, the HKI Association provides its members with information documents on Regulation (EU) 2015/1185, models for the declaration of conformity and technical documentation, a form for technical documentation and a disposal guide for compliance with ecodesign requirements.
