This Directive 2014/53/EU creates a regulatory framework for the introduction of radio equipment in the European internal market. The directive sets essential requirements for the safety, health and electromagnetic compatibility of radio equipment and its efficient use of the radio spectrum. This directive is also becoming more and more important in the commercial kitchen ecosystem, as increasing digitalisation means that data is also exchanged within the commercial kitchen via radio (e.g. WLAN), e. g. for the purpose of monitoring commercial kitchen processes. Implementation into national law took place via the Radio Equipment Act (FuAG). This law results from the European Radio Equipment Directive and regulates the minimum requirements on the German market. The association supports its members in the practical implementation of the requirements addressed in the Radio Equipment Directive and the Delegated Radio Equipment Act.
